New Database Enhances Access to Geological Survey Publications

The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) has launched a new online resource, the Geological Surveys Database, to support the public discovery of a critical source of reliable geoscience information. This new database provides a state-of-the-art portal for decision makers and others to search and discover state geological survey publications and U.S. Geological Survey factsheets.

AGI's Earth Science Week Photo Exhibit Comes to Houston

Earth Science Week, a program of the American Geosciences Institute (AGI), is partnering with George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston to exhibit more than 20 top photos entered in the celebration's 2017 photo contest, which recently explored the theme of "Earth and Human Activity Here." These eye-catching photos will be on display in Terminal B of the airport from June 24 through July 26, 2018.

AIPG Partners with EFG to Enhance Continuing Education for Members

The American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) and the European Federation of Geologists (EFG) have agreed to mutually recognize continuing education units (CEUs). This arrangement allows European Geologist (EurGeol) title holders and AIPG Certified Professional Geologists (CPGs) to seek CEUs from either organization, significantly expanding the course offerings to both groups.

American Geosciences Institute Publishes Community Statement on Harassment

The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) has published a consensus document which outlines strategies for identifying and addressing issues of workplace harassment in the geosciences. An ad hoc committee consisting of representatives from ten geoscience associations or institutions from across industry and academia was convened by AGI to examine the topic of harassment. This same committee ultimately drafted the consensus document, which was formally approved by the AGI Executive Committee on April 9, 2018.
