The Kentucky Geological Survey's interactive map of Class I and II wells provides the locations of disposal and injection wells in the state of Kentucky. The wells displayed on the map are those used for industrial waste disposal (Class I), salt water (brine) disposal (Class II), and enhanced recovery wells for oil and gas production (Class II). The map allows users to select individual wells to access more detailed information, such as the operational status of the well, the company associated with the well, the accompanying geologic formation, and more.

The Illinois State Geological Survey's oil and gas resources interactive map displays records from a database of over 200,000 oil and gas wells in the state of Illinois. The map allows users to explore a range of information about oil and gas wells, producing horizons, samples, core analysis data, structure contours, waterflood areas, and oil fields.

The West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey provides an interactive map of over 144,000 oil and gas wells in West Virginia.

Users can click on individual wells to access more information, including well logs, production history, important dates, and the availability of samples/cores.

Interactive map of Pennsylvania's geology and natural resources

The Pennsylvania Geological Survey's PaGEODE online tool provides an interactive map of the geology and natural resources of Pennsylvania, including:

  • Surface and bedrock geology
  • Earthquakes
  • Karst features
  • Coal, oil, and gas resources
  • Sites of notable geologic interest
  • Street and topographic maps, and aerial images

The map allows users to select multiple layers that can be overlain on each other. By doing this, users can see how different features are related.

Interactive map of oil and gas wells in Ohio

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil & Gas Resources provides an interactive map of the location, status, and type of oil and gas wells across the state of Ohio. The map also includes information on oil and gas fields, groundwater protection, and flood risk (100-year floodplain).

Oil and gas well data can be downloaded by county for further use and analysis.
