Jean Bahr Recognized with AGI's Ian Campbell Medal for Service to Geosciences

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to recognize Dr. Jean M. Bahr, Professor Emerita in the Department of Geoscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as the 2022 recipient of the AGI Medal in Memory of Ian Campbell for Superlative Service to the Geosciences, AGI's highest award.

Geoscience Event Calendar Launched for Geoscience Community

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to launch its new Geoscience Event Calendar, featuring events sponsored by AGI Federation organizations.

The calendar, available to view for free by anyone, features events posted by AGI Member Societies, International Associates, Regional Associates, Trade Associates, Academic Associates, and Liaison Organizations.

AGI Announces Cissy Ming and Behnaz Hosseini as 2022 Harriet Evelyn Wallace Scholarship Recipients

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) congratulates master's student Cissy Ming and doctoral student Behnaz Hosseini for being named as the 2022 recipients of the Harriet Evelyn Wallace Scholarship. This highly competitive scholarship, which is awarded to women pursuing graduate degrees in geoscience, provides each recipient with a $5,000 award for one academic year.

Geoscience COVID-19 Study to Focus on Permanent Changes from the Pandemic

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to announce that its Geoscience COVID-19 Study has been extended into a third and final phase thanks to continued support by the National Science Foundation (Award #2029570). This final phase of the study will track the transition of instructional and work intervention strategies used during the pandemic into their adoption as permanent approaches used within academia and the workforce.
