Interactive map of estimated tsunami travel times to coastal locations

The National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration's tsunami travel times map displays the estimated pre-computed tsunami travel times to select coastal locations from any point in the ocean. The tsunami travel times displayed are in hours and were calculated using TTT software. It is important to note that the travel times shown on the map are estimates and should be used general information only. In the event of an actual tsunami, please visit tsunami.gov for real-time tsunami information.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's thermal springs map displays the location and temperature of thermal springs throughout the U.S. The hot springs shown on the map are color-coded based on recorded temperature (red = boiling, orange = hot, yellow = warm, black = information not available). Users can click on individual hot spring locations to find the hot spring name, location, and most recently recorded temperature.

Interactive map of weather hazard warnings in the United States

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service Watch, Warning, and Advisory Display map shows up-to-date weather warnings and advisories for the continental U.S. The map covers a wide range of weather hazards including tornadoes, thunderstorms, hurricanes, tropical storms, flash and coastal floods, blizzards, winter storms, snow, freezing rain and ice storms, and high winds.

Users can click on individual parts of the map for more specific information down to the county level.

The Arizona Oil & Gas Conservation Commission's oil and gas well interactive map provides the location, operator, geologic formation, and depth of oil and gas wells across the state of Arizona.

By clicking on each well you can access detailed reports of the well's history and logs.

The National Geothermal Data System's interactive geothermal map provides a portal to geothermal information across the United States. Users can search for locations or keywords related to geothermal data and the map will display a catalog of documents and datasets that provide information about geothermal resources across the U.S.

Interactive map of abandoned mines in Virginia

The Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals, and Energy's interactive map shows the locations of abandoned coal mines throughout the state of Virginia. The map allows users to explore a range of mine features. These features are important because abandoned mines have many land-related problems such as landslides, stream sedimentation, hazardous structures, dangerous highwalls, subsidence, loss of water, acid mine drainage, and open mine portals.

The Maine Geological Survey's interactive map provides a range of mineral resource information for the state of Maine. The map allows users to explore Maine's significant mineral commodities, mineral deposits, selected historical mines, and more.

Much of the data can be downloaded for further use and analysis.

Interactive map of mineral resources in Kentucky

The Kentucky Geological Survey's interactive map provides scanned document information and location data related to Kentucky's mineral resources and their associated commodities; fluorite (fluorspar), galena (lead), sphalerite (zinc), barite, iron, nitrates, and phosphates. By clicking on individual points or regions of interest, users can access reports, drill-hole logs, cross-sections, field descriptions, lab analyses, maps, and legal information.

The interactive map also includes a 1:24,000-scale map of Kentucky's geology and faults.

Interactive map of disposal and injection wells in Kentucky

The Kentucky Geological Survey's interactive map of Class I and II wells provides the locations of disposal and injection wells in the state of Kentucky. The wells displayed on the map are those used for industrial waste disposal (Class I), salt water (brine) disposal (Class II), and enhanced recovery wells for oil and gas production (Class II). The map allows users to select individual wells to access more detailed information, such as the operational status of the well, the company associated with the well, the accompanying geologic formation, and more.
