Interactive map of water and weather conditions in Texas

The U.S. Geological Survey's Texas Water Dashboard provides an instant, real-time picture of water and weather conditions in Texas. Information for streams, lakes, reservoirs, precipitation, and groundwater measurements are combined with weather and hazard conditions updated every minute, as well as recent precipitation totals and forecasts for next seven days.

The District of Columbia's Office of the Chief Technology Officer makes a huge amount of information available in interactive map form. Interactive map of water wells in Nebraska

The Nebraska Department of Natural Resources provides an interactive map of water wells in the state. Wells are color-coded by use, and include geothermal, injection, irrigation, domestic, monitoring, and commerical wells, plus many other types. Users can click on each well to access registration and ownership information.

Additional map layers include transportation, aerial photography, and lakes and rivers.

Interactive map of earthquakes in Alabama

The Geological Survey of Alabama provides an online interactive map of earthquake information for Alabama. The map provides the locations, dates, and magnitudes of historical earthquakes, as well as highlighting recent earthquakes.

Known surface faults and interpreted subsurface faults are also shown, allowing users to see the relationships between different identified faults and historical earthquakes.

Interactive map of water quality assessments in Tennessee

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation provides an interactive map service through which users can find information on water quality assessments across the state. Information on monitoring sites, permitting, dams, siltation, streams and waterbodies, and habitat impairment, are all available through the map. Visualization of the mineral resources in everyday objects

The U.S. Geological Survey has produced a visualization entitled, "Mineral Resources...out of the ground...into our daily lives", which details the mineral resources used to produce everyday items that we use in our homes, on our person, and out in the world.

This visualization gives the major everyday uses for dozens of mineral resources, showing the huge diversity of materials needed to produce even the most basic or fundamental objects of our modern lives.
