EPA – The Environmental Protection Agency has released Protective Action Guide for Drinking Water as an addition to the 2012 revised interim Protective Action guides and Planning Guidance for Radiological Incidents. USGS – The National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program (NCGMP) and National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program (NGGDPP) Advisory Committee will hold an auto conference call on August 8 to advise the Director of the USGS on planning and implementation of the geological mapping and data preservation programs. USGS – The U.S. Geological Survey is looking to fill a vacancy on its Advisory Committee on Climate Change and Natural Resource Sciences with a representative from state government covered by the Northeast Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. EPA – The Environmental Protection Agency’s Science Advisory Board will hold a public teleconference of the Chartered Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC) and the CASAC Particulate Matter Panel on Tuesday, August 9 to discuss EPA’s Integrated Review Plan for National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Particulate Matter. EPA – The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to update a portion of the Outer Continental Shelf (‘‘OCS’’) Air Regulations. Requirements applying to OCS sources located within 25 miles of States’ seaward boundaries must be updated periodically to remain consistent with the requirements of the corresponding onshore area (‘‘COA’’). EPA – The Environmental Protection Agency is announcing a 30-day public comment period for the draft document titled, ‘‘Updates to the Demographic and Spatial Allocation Models to Produce Integrated Climate and Land Use Scenarios (ICLUS) Version 2’.  This document describes the development of version 2 of Integrated Climate and Land Use Scenarios (ICLUS), including updates to data sets and the demographic and spatial allocation models. USGS – The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, which facilitated by the White House National Science and Technology Council Subcommittee on Disaster Reduction (co-chaired by the U.S. Geological Survey), plans to host a listening session at the 41st Natural Hazards Center Annual Workshop to hear multi-sectoral perspectives on the implementation of targets and indicators for UNISDR’s Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 on July 10, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. [(Tuesday, June 21, 2016 (Volume 81, Number 119)]

NSF – The National Science Foundation will hold two meetings (1) July 28, 2016; 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and (2) July 29, 2016; 9:00 a.m to 12:30 p.m. to provide advice and recommendations concerning support for international research, education and related activities involving the U.S. science and engineering community working in a global context as well as strategic efforts to promote a more effective NSF role in international science and engineering. EPA – The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is publishing a final Clean Water Act (CWA) regulation that establishes pretreatment standards that prevent the discharge of pollutants in wastewater from onshore unconventional oil and gas (UOG) extraction facilities to POTWs. NOAA – The National Sea Grant Advisory Board (NSGAB) has published the schedule and proposed agenda of a meeting on August 12, 2016, in which NSGAB members will discuss and provide advice on the National Sea Grant College Program (NSGCP) in the areas of program evaluation, strategic planning, education and extension, science and technology programs, and other matters as described in the agenda found on the NSGCP website.
