NOAA View is a data exploration tool produced by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and developed by the NOAA Environmental Visualization Laboratory. It contains an enormous amount of information relevant to global geoscience issues in interactive map form. Over 100 different datasets are available on a wide range of topics related to the Earth system. Datasets include:
- Sea surface temperature
- Coral bleaching zones
- Energy for hurricanes
- Ozone concentration
- Rain accumulation
- Active fire locations
- Drought risk
- Snow and ice cover
- Sea ice concentration
- Sea surface temperature anomaly
- Precipitation anomaly
- Surface temperature anomaly
- Ocean pH model
Users can view these data on a wide variety of scales, and click on areas of interest for more detailed information, much of which is available for download and reuse.
Other layers include ocean-dissolved nutrient concentrations; sea surface height; satellite imagery; detailed bathymetry; cloud cover; soil moisture; and global climate predictions.
