Alberta Energy (a ministry of the Government of Alberta) provides an interactive map with basic information on coal resources in Alberta. The map includes:

• Coal mines (split into sub-bituminous, bituminous, and in-situ coal gasification)
• Mineral ownership information
• Mineral restrictions for coal
• Coal leases

Other layers include roads and railways, topography, lakes and rivers, parks and protected areas, and municipalities. Users can click on individual areas to find restriction reports and mine production statuses.
